Jason Yenter Hey Quilting Friends! Let's take a trip down memory lane to the humble beginnings of In The Beginning, a cozy haven for quilters and crafters alike. Back in 1977, in the heart of Seattle, Washington, Sharon Evans Yenter had a brilliant idea: to establish a quaint retail store catering to the needs of fabric enthusiasts. With a mission to provide top-notch cotton fabrics, inspiring classes, and a warm community vibe, Sharon's dream took flight. From its modest 400-square-foot loft, In The Beginning blossomed into a sprawling 6,000-square-foot paradise for quilters. But the story doesn't end there! In 1996, a new chapter unfolded with the birth of In The Beginning Fabrics, a division dedicated to crafting exquisite cotton fabrics for independent shops nationwide and beyond. Fast forward to today, where Sharon's son, Jason, carries on the family legacy. In 2005, with a focus on fabric innovation, the decision was made to bid farewell to the retail space and dive headfirst into fabric design. Now, both mother and son pour their hearts into creating a stunning array of collections, collaborating with artists to bring to life twelve to fourteen captivating collections each year.
