Each fabric is chosen with a designers eye for how the fabric will "bloom" as a kaleidoscope, and then layered and cut into twelve 8 1/2 inch blocks. All of our pre-cut kaleidoscope quilt blocks fit all of our Avalon Bloom Kaleidoscope quilt patterns, and there are over 40 to choose from.

Bird Song Floral Cabbage Kaleidoscope Quilt Block Kit

The print features charming ornamental cabbage motifs adorned with chrysanthemums and small botanicals rendered in a nature-inspired style. Colors include woodland green, moonlit hydrangea, marigold, apricot, ember, oasis and lavender elixer. The fabric is Bird Song Floral Cabbage by Cedar West for Clothworks Fabrics pattern Y4512-55 Color Multi. Finished dimension for all blocks sewn together is 24 X 32 inches. Each block measures 8 1/2 inches square when sewn. Our Fast and Easy Blooming Blocks© are cut from 100 percent cotton fabric. Each block in the set will be uniquely different due to layering the fabric in exact repeats to create a kaleidoscope effect by precisely rotary cutting them.They are specially cut so that the centers will lie flatter and so there is no bias on the edges of the block so they lie flat in your quilt. Beautiful blues! From intense deep indigo to the lightest tints of ice blue to vast cerulean skies and from the warm azure water lapping the Mediterranean coastline to moody grey-blue, stormy oceans, there is a hue of blue for every mood. I adore this omnipresent colour that envelopes our world day and night. Dusk is my favourite time of day — the twilight zone when the sky’s colours shift after the sun’s setting, and before night closes in. Time is suspended for a little while as colours deepen from a pale tint to petrol blue, before turning into an expanse of deep blue velvet sprinkled with stars. In French, it is known as “L’heure bleue.” This resonates with me so I chose it as the name of my FreeSpirit fabric collection inspired by the colour blue," Este Macleod.Colors include indigo,ice blue, sky, jade, cerulean, sotrmy blue, azure and lemon.
